The VAT is sneaking up again..

Since Jan 1 the VAT charged on meals and other 'low level' services in France is 7% up from 5.5%. You probably won't notice a huge difference on your tabs, but, if that cup of coffee in a cafe seems a little more pricey this is probably why.
